The 2025 Nissan Murano received an updated design outside and numerous Murano-first technologies inside the cabin.

The crossover debuted on Oct. 16 at the Nissan America Headquarters, unveiled by actress and Nissan Brand Ambassador Brie Larson. She was joined on stage by Giovanny Arroba, Nissan program design director, and Vinay Shahani, senior vice president of U.S. marketing and sales.

Murano has a standard 2.0-L VC-Turbo (Variable-Compression Turbo) powertrain rated for 241 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters. Idle stop-start is standard.

Murano SV is offered with front-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, while SL and Platinum grades feature standard AWD. Regarding handling, the new Murano adopts frequency-sensitive dampers in its suspension and switches to electric power steering. Additionally, the Murano is rated to tow up to 1,500 lbs.

The 2025 Nissan Murano will reach dealerships in early 2025, with pricing to be announced closer to sale.

Murano’s Updated Safety Features and Assistance

The 2025 Murano employs technology such as Nissan Safety Shield 360, which is standard. Safety features seen under the surface were added to improve crash performance for rear-seat occupants. Under-seat reinforcement, seat belt load limiters, and pretensioners were added for rear-seat passengers in the second row.

Several advanced driver-assistance features complement the 360 suite of safety technologies.

A Murano first, the crossover has an available 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor that expands on the previous model’s bird’s-eye view by allowing the user to select from one of eight virtual vantage points “around” the vehicle.

Additionally, Murano adopts Invisible Hood View, allowing for a virtual view “through” the engine bay to help spot car wash tracks, drive-through curbs, or other obstacles.

Murano SV features ProPILOT Assist, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control with Steering Assist to support highway driving. ProPILOT Assist 1.1 uses navigation data to adjust speed ahead of curves based on the vehicle’s planned route on SV and Platinum grades.

Dual Displays and Connectivity Define the Murano’s Tech

Dual 12.3-in. displays are standard in Murano. The left-hand display is the vehicle’s instrument cluster and has multiple configurable display modes. The center is a touchscreen displaying entertainment and information. Murano SV models include standard wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.

The 2025 Murano is the latest Nissan model to adopt Google built-in. Included in SL and Platinum grades, it brings familiar apps — including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Play Store — to the vehicle’s dashboard.

Charging options comprise two front and two rear USB Type-C ports and a standard wireless phone charger in the front center console.

Active Sound Cancellation is standard on all Murano grades. On SL and Platinum, a Bose 10-speaker audio system delivers sound throughout the cabin.

Reorganized Interior and a Fresh Exterior

The 2025 Murano interior is arranged on a horizontal design theme. For instance, the standard dual 12.3-in. displays are wrapped into their surroundings with stitched materials.

Like the all-electric Nissan Ariya, the Murano uses a capacitive-touch panel for the climate controls. Additionally, push-button shifters free up center console space for storage, cup holders, and the standard wireless phone charging pad.

The Murano’s exterior proportions include more than a 2.6-in. increase in overall body width with flared rear fenders. The front end features “Crystal Cube” LED headlights at either side of a gloss-black trim strip, separated from the vehicle’s grille.
