Breaking Down Details on Hyundai’s 2025 Elantra and Sonata

Hyundai announced pricing, features, and model year changes for the 2025 Elantra and Sonata.

Regarding changes, the 2025 Elantra introduces two new models, the SEL Sport and SEL Convenience, with the Convenience offered as a standalone model.

The 2025 Sonata sees a reintroduction of the entry-level SE trim and offers the SEL Convenience as a standalone trim. Second-row console-mounted air vents have been added inside the Sonata N Line.

2025 Hyundai Elantra: Tech Forward and Hybrid Options

The 2025 Elantra SE, with a starting MSRP of $21,875, comes standard with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

The new model year offers hybrid models, including the Elantra Hybrid Blue. The HEV has a starting MSRP of $25,100, a $1,150 reduction from the 2024 model year. The Hybrid Blue model features a hybrid powertrain with an EPA-estimated 54 mpg combined.

The HEV is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAs), including:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection
  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist with haptic feedback warning and Lane Following Assist
  • Automatic headlamp control

Safety and Tech Shine in the 2025 Hyundai Sonata

The 2025 Sonata SE trim has been reintroduced with a starting MSRP of $26,650, featuring comprehensive standard equipment such as 16-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a proximity key with push button start, and automatic headlamp control.

The SE features ADAs such as:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection
  • Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
  • Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist
  • Automatic headlamp control

The Sonata SEL equipped with the 2.5L GDI engine starts at $27,750 MSRP, offering an optional HTRAC All-Wheel Drive (AWD).

Sonata users can also choose from three powertrains: 2.5L, 2.5 T-GDI, and integrated 2.0L Hybrid.
