UFC 300 — Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill: Fight card, odds, start time, date, complete guide for massive event

It’s time for a celebration of sorts. UFC is set to mark a milestone number of PPV events on Saturday night in Las Vegas with UFC 300 set for the T-Mobile Arena. After giant successes with their 100 and 200 events, UFC went all out to make sure that Saturday is one for the books. The card features two recognized title fights along with the ceremonial “BMF” title at stake. Plus, the undercard fills out with many former champions, a few rising prospects and a two-time Olympic gold medalist making her promotional debut.

The main event sees the return of UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira as he looks to make his first defense of the crown against former titleholder Jamahal Hill. Pereira earned the the title in November with a knockout of Jiri Prochazka. Hill was forced to vacate the title last year after suffering a torn Achilles while playing basketball.

Plus, women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili looks to make another title defense in the co-main event when she battles her fellow countrywoman Yan Xiaonan. Weili is on her second run as champion at 115 pounds and coming off a thorough beating of Amanda Leemos in her last appearance. Xiaonan, meanwhile, has picked up a pair of victories to earn her crack at the belt, including a first-round TKO of former champion Jessica Andrade in her last appearance.

The rest of the main card fills out with more fun matchups. The ceremonial “BMF” title is at stake once again when Justin Gaethje, who won the belt last year with a vicious head kick knockout of Dustin Poirier, takes on Max Holloway in an intriguing lightweight contest. The winner is hoping to make a statement to current champ Islam Makhachev as he awaits a return this summer. Speaking of statement chances, Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan will look to do that as well in a lightweight battle. Oliveira, the former titleholder, was expected to face Makhachev last fall but suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw. Plus, the opening fight on the card sees the return of top middleweight prospect Bo Nickal when he takes on Cody Brundage.
